My youngest son garnered the fourth honor in his Grade I Class during their recognition day on March 29, 2012. He was also awarded the Best in Mathematics and Best in Makabayan in his Class. He is actually belonging to the Special Education (SPED) / Special Science Elementary Schools (SSES), designed not only for fast learners but it has also programs for the gifted and the talented. Only selected regular schools that have passed the SSES screening procedures have this program. In the entire Region XII only four (4) SPED Centers have it and one of those is the Koronadal Central Elementary School - I (KCES - I). So just belonging to this class is already an achievement, much more being an honor pupil. His adviser told me that he got the Top 1 in the Academic but he was low in extra curricular activities that's why he only got the 4th place. Nevertheless, I'm still so proud of him because for him to be the Top 1 in Academic means he's smart enough. Here are some pix taken during that memorable day ....
